Litany for Love

Possession of the moon is not required to take rapturous delight in its faraway splendor

I’m a regular Robin Should.
Firing arrows of retribution from a bow made of guilt.
I bleed these veins to the bloodlost because I’ve taken so many transfusions. Not enough of me could flow through you to hollow out my clots of didn’t have, couldn’t have, and never would you join me in a prayer?
On my path to redemption I’ll make you all vampires.

I roar like a lion, with the mouth of a lamb. But I wear the costume well, so you never know the difference. For all the stars I’m here for you know I’ve got your back. With false fangs bared and plastic claws out, ready to tear the throat from whatever ails you. But lambs don’t eat meat, you know? The blood of your enemies sours my stomach is in knots whenever I admit this.

When the world became round all of us dreamers looking over the edges tumbled off. We landed hard in Christian Hell all among the stained glass-shards of our dreams. There was a choir of angels flinging. Flinging down the titans cuz’ their time had passed, like ours, and I lifted these shoulders off atlas. If you’ve fallen, too, I’ll carry you.

More than these things; Lion, lamb, Robin, Titan, I am Love. Just love. White, hot, love which leaks from my heart like sand through a sieve and bursts out my seams in it’s eagerness and it’s all for YOU.
All for YOU
We’re in this together we make a difference.
These avian bones and glass shields and these words themselves are for you; my brothers, my sisters, my friends.
